Kashawn Lungelow, PLMHP

STAFF THERAPIST

I am a Provisional Licensed Mental Health Practitioner (PLMHP). I was born and raised in Saint Paul, Minnesota. I am a Navy veteran who went to the Naval Academy Preparatory School at 18 years old and ultimately graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in General Science. I served from 2018 to 2026 in Japan, Norfolk, Virginia, and lastly in Lincoln, Nebraska.

I decided to change my career and become a mental health counselor because I noticed many of my sailors and fellow officers out at sea coming to me to talk about their problems. I was not educated to properly help my sailors, but I knew I wanted to do more. My passion was in helping people become the best they could be, and so I landed on the career of mental health counseling. While I was on my shore duty at the Navy ROTC at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, I went to school at Bellevue University and graduated with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in November of 2025.

I utilize many approaches to therapy, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy. I use the best approach for the client, but in doing so, remain collaborative and empathetic to their needs.

Outside of work, I read books, watch trashy reality TV with my friends, work out, and play video games.
