Kristin Williams, MCMHC, PLMHP
STAFF THERAPIST
Hey there, I’m Kristin. I’m a feral Gen-Xer, artist, advocate, and giver of few flips. Oh yeah, and I’m a therapist! I have a Bachelor’s in Art Therapy from Kansas State University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University.
Besides being a life-long learner, I’m a highly-sociable introvert who loves reading, writing, creative projects, and exploring new countries and cultures. I am happily partnered to a military veteran and the proud mother of two young adults, one teen, one large pup, and one miscreant cat. In my life outside of the office, I foster dogs with medical needs, engage in social justice events, and do my best to spread kindness and joy in a time when things can feel very heavy.
My goal as a therapist is to create a welcoming and collaborative space where you feel safe, heard, and understood. Everyone has lived a different story, so I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy; I blend traditional methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with newer techniques and creative practices. Together, we might explore how your brain processes information, look closely at your relationship patterns, or do the delicate work of unpacking childhood wounds. I can walk with you through seasons of anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. I can help you navigate complex grief, trauma, marital discord, divorce, and familial estrangement. I can assist you to explore your gender and sexual identities in an affirming space. I can also help you heal from narcissistic abuse, religious trauma, and the deconstruction or reconstruction of your faith.
I am as comfortable taking a methodical scientific path to wellness as I am integrating spirituality and holistic healing into our time together. In my office, you lead the way.
